Working with Professor Ryan Bloom, my project is going to be a short story collection focused on Jewish culture and mythology and will consist of six “medium” length stories (about 3,000-6,000 words) as well as two “flash fiction” pieces that will be under 1,000 words. To complete this project, I am conducting research on Jewish mythology both in the traditional texts (such as the Talmud) as well as in Jewish folk stories published by various authors. I will also research other aspects of Jewish culture that are still relevant today (such as Orthodox match making practices and weddings). My goal is to learn more about my own cultural heritage and use it as a basis for my creative work.
